So, I've been learning Lost Wax casting lately (lately being the last 1.5 months). I have 3 batches of products out but I've only buffed and polished batch 1.

Lost Wax casting is where you make an item out of wax and then create a plaster cast of the object. Then by sticking the flask with the plaster in a kiln and heat it to 1300 degrees F, the wax will melt clean out and leave a plaster imprint. Then I melt the desired metal with a freakn huge torch at crazy insane high temperatures and then SHOOT the metal into the plaster cast to get my finished pieces which I dissolve the cast to get to. Then it's buff and polish till shiny. It was very fun and exciting if a bit tiring to do the whole process.

So this is my first batch, mostly pendents with a ring on the side. The small circle is actually a ring for Sey (SD13). The whole batch was made by hand and cast by yours truly. The metal I used was Bronze.

I finally sat myself down to make a few human items. These are going to be listed for sale on Esty tomorrow, I'm posting them on LJ so that my LJ friends can get first dibs if they like something.

I just finished moving apartments @.@ Moving is so stressful, you never truly know how much stuff you have until you move, seriously. Now I am slowly getting used to the new one since it is not only in a different location, but I also have different apartment mates, ergo different dynamics.

I've been sleeping so much these days, especially when the sun is out, makes me feel like maybe I'm part cat.

I saw a really interesting British film today called "Death at a Funeral" which was hilarious. The movies starts with the undertaker delivering the wrong coffin to the family an hour or so before the wake/funeral was suppose to take place and it goes downhill from there.

More gaming on my DS. I totally didn't know that Cooking Mama now does gardening too @.@ I also started the japanese game that is suppose to be good at mind soothing called Data.

I also recently found out that I suck less at Mario Kart than I previously thought. ^__^



Commission News Update:

This beautiful set made from silver plated findings and natural colored garnets from India. I am willing to customize it to fit the buyer's doll exactly. This is rare because usually the jewelry I design for my boy are One of a Kind. I would make variations but never the exact replica.

There are only a few people reading my LJ so I don't think anyone would be interested in the set, but I decided to put it up here as well for fairness sake. A commission piece, Bunny with Wings in green~





The bunny is about an inch tall. It's suitable for MSD and SD dolls alike. I tried it on Sey and Razi. It was fun to make ^__^ I love bunniehs~

I was commissioned recently to make a clip with a bunny with wings XD I think it turned out pretty cute, it was fun ^__^V Pictures in a day or so~

In my last shipment of supplies, I also bought a few blue clay roses on a whim to play with as well as some green pearls. I have no idea what I have in store for them yet but ... we'll see ^.~

Makes me want to just stay in bed and not move an inch to avoid adding to the heat emanating around already.

Break in making jewelry because I am out of supplies that I need. These days I'm either watching ALL of Bones with either Razi or Sey for company, or lounging on bed doing required reading for my summer class with both of them. They are very good company ^___^

Kuro and I bought Razi and Taku each a wooden bed from Ikea recently so the dollies spend a lot of time lounging around bed enjoying themselves too. teehee~ We're all such a lazy bunch x3

I'm thinking of buying a bigger SD micro card to add more thing on my NDS. Summer here is pretty boring as everyone stays indoor because being outside means that the sun will eat you alive. XE

Oh right, my commissions list is now FULL so I have a waitlist open which I likely won't get to until late August or beyond unless I suddenly become very very productive. The only exception would be Tygati who talked vaguely about having something commissioned very much earlier so I will squeeze her in if she still wants something made.

But right now, the dollies and I are both in down time XD They are both lounging around on my bed in bathrobe type yukatas being very mellow and lazy x3

Wow I'm just on a creativity TRAIN this week.

Snowy Dreams is made out of sterling silver wires, Swarvoski AB crystals, fresh water pearls. and silver plated findings, and a lot of work X__x Making all those links was on the painful side lol~








It has been my "big project" for a while, I'm glad it turned out so well. It's even prettier in real life with all the crystals sparkling and the pearls a cream color. ^___^~
